Use the industry experience of Earthshack and STELR equipment provided by Casey Tech School to model and test the effectiveness of passive housing designs. Students then use their knowledge to design and build their own model house.
Program objectives:
- Recognise the combined role of material selection, insulation, thermal mass, double glazing and shading in the design of an energy efficient house.
- Investigate heat transfer through various building materials.
- Develop skills with STELR Housing Equipment, data collection and analysis.
- Apply learnings to design and test their own STELR house.
