Overview of 4 Week VCE Media Premiere-Pro Afterschool Program

This four-session afterschool program at Casey Tech School provides VCE Media students with hands-on experience using Adobe Premiere Pro to develop practical editing and visual storytelling skills. Students explore the full editing process, from capturing footage and building sequences to applying basic to more advanced techniques to further their skills. Throughout the program, participants experiment with creative effects such as masking, speed ramping, custom transitions and basic motion tracking. Each session combines technical instruction using demo activities with short production tasks, allowing students to apply new skills immediately in activities.

By the end of the program, students will have developed a stronger understanding of editing workflows and industry-standard tools, as well as increased confidence in producing polished, creative video content. This experience supports VCE Media studies while encouraging experimentation and problem-solving in a practical, collaborative environment.
